Goals:

This course covers the fundamental phenomena applied to the study of electromagnetic transients in power systems.

During the course many application areas, such as AC transients, faults and protections, saturation in transformers, electrical machines and transmission lines, with practical examples that illustrate these applications are discussed. Several detailed analysis will be conducted to highlight practical situations frequently encountered by engineers in this field.

Attendees will experience the different cases given in an interactive environment using the simulation package PSCAD X4. No experience in handling PSCAD is required.

This course is focused engineers, professors and researchers in power systems and power electronics. The course is available for experienced users of PSCAD program and for new users or non-users.

IMPORTANT: Attendees will bring their laptop.
